August 1945 marked the end of World War II. Under the leadership of the Communist Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese people simultaneously conducted an uprising and seized power. Within 15 days of the end of August 1945, the whole nation rose up to break the chains of feudal colonialism and regained independence for the nation.

On September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh – on behalf of the Provisional Government – solemnly read the Declaration of Independence, and the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born. Since then, it has become the National Day of Vietnam.

Celebrating the 77th Anniversary of August Revolution and National Day

The August Revolution and Vietnam National Day opened a new period of independence, contributing to the country’s impressive economic results. Each of us must always be grateful for our forefathers’ relentless efforts to gain independence, and must constantly lead the country to sustainable development.
