September 2nd in 1945 is an important milestone marking a major turning point of the country and the Vietnamese people – the National Day of the current Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
At Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence before the entire people, as a strong declaration of Vietnam’s independence and sovereignty.
Happy Vietnam National Independence Day September 2nd.
As every year, Vietnamese people are given a day off from work to celebrate the historical significance of this special event. A striking sign of the cheerful spirit of the day was the appearance of the Vietnamese flag everywhere, coloring the whole country with its vivid red background and golden star. The streets are also adorned with an explosion of red and yellow banners of celebration and oversized posters of Uncle Ho speaking into a 1945 microphone.
More specifically, this year’s National Day, in harmony with the sacred atmosphere of remembering the great occasion, Vietnamese people are still working together to fight the Covid-19 epidemic.
